Committee Members

  • Alice Manuell

Alice moved to Melbourne in 2019 to deepen her understanding of the Australian wine industry. Alice has worked across fine dining spaces, managed wine bars, retailers and is now in sales at Lo-Fi.

In 2023, she founded Femeir Cru after struggling to connect with other women in the wine and hospitality industries. Her experience revealed the challenges - and at times, risks - faced by women in the field. Alice believes in the power of community to create a safer, more inclusive industry for everyone.

  • Bridget Mac

Bridget Mac trained and worked as an artist before making the move to winemaking.

Bridget has spent several vintages working with some of the finest winemakers in Australia and France. Her wine label Werkstatt was launched in 2022 with a major emphasises on terroir, drawing inspiration from Alsace, and the DACH regions (Germany, Austria, Switzerland).

In 2024 she took home Best New Act at the Young Gun Of Wine Awards after making a profound impression on the judges with Werkstatt.

  • Lorena Corso

Sicilian-born, Melbourne-based chef Lorena Corso is the fire behind the Sicilian Smoke Out.

After nearly a decade in the UK, Lorena made the move to Australia and fell head-over-heels for its nature, people, and buzzing food scene.

When Lorena’s not cooking on her beloved charcoal BBQ you’ll find her farming, foraging, or hosting gatherings and events that bring community to the table.

Her mission is to connect like-minded people and build safe and creative spaces in hospitality.

  • Amy Mcgouldrick

After making the move from the UK to Melbourne, Amy McGouldrick found her heart (and her home) in the city’s vibrant hospitality scene.

She’s spent most of her time in Melbourne living and working in St Kilda, which eventually led her to open The Walrus, a wine and oyster bar she runs with her partner.

Her aim in business and in life is to extend generosity and acceptance to the people who make the food and beverage industry what it is - so special.
